Overview
Web to Lead is a capability in Salesforce that allows admins to define fields to capture in web forms to create leads. This allows organizations to quickly create forms to create leads in salesforce.
How Is Web To Lead Used?
Web-to-Lead utilizes an interface in which an admin defines a lead owner and fields to collect to create a lead in Salesforce. Salesforce then generates HTML code that can be copy/pasted into websites to help route information from webforms to the appropriate fields in Salesforce.
